Tutorial level complete! Level 2: The Sunsgrovian Embassy!

Some readers were curious where the story was going next? Well, it’s going right into the heart of the political whirlwind that is Sunsgrove’s embassy — one of many, in fact! There are embassies in Nessa and Gair of course, and also one in Aisling.

I don’t imagine that one in Aisling will be open for much longer.

I’ve also been asked about the timeline and how Song of the Eastern Sands fits into the overall canon of Beyond the Western Deep. To be specific, this story takes place a couple days after the events of Chapter 2 transpired. The ending of this tale won’t align perfectly with where Chapter 3 begins (there’s a little bit of overlap), but the timelines are very close.

For those who celebrated Valentine’s Day, I hope you all had a wonderful one! I’m one of those people who likes it pretty much exclusively for the discount candy you see on the 15th, but I was pleased to see Tracy Butler (of Lackadaisy Cats) get into the spirit of the holiday with a set of the best Valentine’s Day cards ever made.

Jerome wondered how Cain and Yurk spent their Valentine’s Day. The answer was simple:

Ah well, there’s always next year!

For guest art this week, I wanted to share another one of Elson’s amazing pieces of character art. Next up, a certain Sunsgrovian politician who we haven’t seen in a while but is destined to play an important role in the story to come:

darkspeeds_janik

We don’t see much in the way of Janik guest art, but I absolutely love it when we get it! Janik looks fantastic here, no doubt caught between council meetings in the Nessian streets as she hurries from her embassy to the capital. Terria and Nessa may be roughly the same size, but Terria has more verticality suited to a Tamian — Nessa is big and wide and flat and hot, so it’s important to slot enough time in for travel to and fro!

Thanks so much for the wonderful artwork, Elson!
