How about that Canid hospitality, eh? Even when they know you’re innocent, you’re not really innocent. Maybe you’re just less-guilty? But even if there’s a chance you’re a little guilty when it comes to the murder of a Canid general’s brother, expect to sport some stylish iron bracelets, at least for a little while.
So even while Quin’s somewhat off the hook (getting shot by the enemy is a convincing argument that you’re not on their side), he’s still freezing his tail off in the Deltrada dungeons. The Canid are nothing if not thorough. But of course Tosch has his priorities — like getting to the bottom of why his brother was killed.
My move to Bellevue is nearly complete! The moving company will be here Saturday morning/afternoon to deliver my furniture, television, computer, etc. and I will finally be able to do things like sit down! My first week at ArenaNet was absolutely fantastic — and while I can’t really say much about it, I’m very excited about what I’m working on.
So! Completely unrelated to murder, mayhem, and sitting uncomfortably in cramped dungeon cells, our guest art this week is rather spectacular! As a birthday gift, Song of the Eastern Sands illustrator and all-around amazing human being Jerome Jacinto painted this fun piece of WORLDS COLLIDING!
Of course, to be fair, Dakkan and Beck do in fact occupy the same world, so something like this isn’t entirely outside the realm of possibility. They seem like they would get along pretty well, and Jerome’s captured their easygoing attitudes perfectly. I really find myself wanting to listen into whatever it is they’re talking about.

I get the feeling we’re going to get at least an idea of where Dak is next week.
I sure hope so. I’m very curious as to what’s happening to him, and how he’s reacting to his new situation, whatever it is.

So Toschie-Tosch doesn’t know why his brother was killed. The answer seems pretty obvious to me, but I got to watch from our special spectator seat. Unfortunately for Quin, Tosch thinks he knows something, and is determined to get it out of him. Hopefully he won’t resort to torture immediately . . . at least he has the decency to know that Quin couldn’t have carried out the deed, and to not just kill him. But the future for our Tamian is not bright. And I don’t even want to think about what Dakkan has suffered/is suffering/will suffer as a result of this fiasco.
Nice picture, Jerome! I definitely could see Beck and Dak being fast friends. Maybe even a blossoming romance at some point . . .
well at least Quin’s ok but the question remains about Dakkan he is the son of Kenosh Dakkan Father sense Kenosh is the one that kill General Clovis i don’t think General Tosch well let Dakkan go since some of the army may or may not have seen of what happened. and i have to say the art is amazing and surprising in many ways.
Tosch must’ve been told about the night before, but it was kinda hazy thanks to the chaos. now I’m reeeaaally worried about Dakkan.. gods know what he’s going through….

Oh, boy! Not good! But, if I were in Tosch’s place, I suppose I would just automatically arrest anyone who looked remotely like they should be arrested. However, that Erhmen bolt in Quin’s arm is certainly saying more in his defense than any Canid lawyer ever could!

I LOVE the idea of Beck and Dak meeting one day. And, if I were to guess their dialogue in this scene:

Yes. Canid hospitality. I see they have given Quinlan a stool but set it out of reach. Now he can look at the stool and imagine sitting on it rather than hanging from his wounded arm. How considerate.
Pfft innocence proves nothing. I bet the squirrel was in cahoots with the murderers somehow!

The new antagonist of BTWD shows herself, with righteous rage, envy, and the general nonexistent canid sense of humor all at the ready. She might be less likely to murder someone than Tosch. Might. Either way– sorry Dakkan.
When it comes to Dakkan’s romantic partners . . .
This is a really nice piece! I especially love him scratching the back of her head, it’s a very genuine gesture.
Hm this is actually looking a little more hopeful than I first thought. All because Tosch recognizes that Quin couldn’t have possibly killed Clovis, at least, in the logical sense. I fear for Dakkan though, he didn’t sustain any injuries and he’s the same race as the murderer. My heart!
Also, the fluff returns gloriously in the last panel. Definitely worth mentioning. :P

At least Quin should be “relatively” all right. Dakkan well….>_< don't wanna think about it. I also wonder if Janik will be in Nessa next we see her. Also second that notion on the fluffiness of the last panel.

The tension is certainly building. I mean, they’re the heroes, so they can’t die. (Right??) At the same time, Dak’s own father is the one who stabbed Clovis–in the back, to boot–and Quin was their traveling companion. I think there’s a pretty good chance the Canid will figure that Quin and especially Dak had something to do with it. Mostly by virtue of association, but also the whole “you’re his son/his son’s best friend, do you really expect us to believe that you had no idea what he was planning” thing.
Canid justice: “Guilty until proven guilty.”
Just pointing this out, but I really love Tosch’s fur coloring. It looks very silky smooth to me. Also this comment section sometimes XD never change…
I love all the little pieces of artwork here and there.
Here’s hoping if they ever meet up, Dak and Beck get into a lover’s quarrel, Quin as usual feels awkward being the third wheel like always, Lady Canid instigates a war not ON the Ermehn oh no, but on the Salmon Party for making a complete mockery of her. Then some major stuff happens and somewhere along the lines she quotes that “she’s a general not some opera floozy”. Then Rook comes steals Beck back, both Dakkan and he get into a little fight and then Quinlan pops in questioning how far south this story went and Dakkan then replies “not far enough!” and he then kisses her and they all elope into parts unknown and live happily ever after the end. Somebody get Hollywood and make this half-baked fan fiction into the screen!

i don’t know that would actually work especially in for Hollywood that would however be a lot of interesting things going on there to be honest
