So it would appear that Tosch is looking at the big picture. This is also a good time to remember that, to the Canid (and to the rest of the Four Kingdoms), Terria and Lutra are considered equally “Sunsgrovian.” Evidently that doesn’t bode well for our brand new Sunsgrovian captain.

I guess this means Quinlan and Dakkan are spending Valentine’s Day stuck in a cold, grimy cell. That’s too bad, because here, we’re having a GREAT Valentine’s Day! A SPLENDID Valentine’s Day!

Also, I was most pleased to see SaraaLuna creating some hilarious Valentine’s Day “alternatives” to the usual Hallmark stuff. It’s probably true that Hallmark has something for everyone, but do they have a Valentine’s Day card with a chained up squirrel desperately crying for help?

I don’t get it. First he yells acusatorily and then he offers Quinlan a map.
Unless Tosch is trying to play good cop; bad cop, but now that General Snowball is dead he has to play both characters himself.
So if Clovis was General Snowball, what’s Tosch? General Cocoa Puff?
Well, someone is upset. Lookit those teeth. I love the page though, and Jerome’s hilarious Valentine’s Day drawing. Nothing says “I appreciate you” like murder. I also see my typo-ridden valentines cards made it. Sigh. This is what happens when you do things at 1 AM and don’t spellcheck.

i’m afraid the general Tosch may have a point since captain Kenosh has started a war between two people of one land the squirrels and the otters are the two united kingdoms that hes been allies for the second age or one age? and i have no doubt Qine and Dak will be at the garrison for sometime or will . . . . . something awful sad to see both of them in prison while on a valentines day and not all humans are bad just those that chose or learn or porn and raise to do bad thing’s it’s only is a matter of choices you make in life. love the roses are red thing i thought it was funny. and i agree with Qine help.

Dakkan and Quinlan kinda need to get out of the prison next for the story to continue, and I’m curious to see who will help them and what their motivation will be. (My bet is on the Lady Canid and ‘my father the late general Clovis wouldn’t have wanted it this way’)
And then Lady Canid takes them to a darker dungeon and does what her late father would have TRULY wanted to do to them.*

Naw, it’s ok I’m sure someday Clovis will look back at this and just give out a hearty laugh and….oh…yeah he’s sorta busy pushing the daisies isnt he? Very touching drawing there Jerome! and I can’t forget Saraa’s lulzy Valentine cards (with typos and everything *teehee*)
But Ooh boy, what sort of schemes Tosch will be cooking up now that he and the rest of the Canid will have that war they desperately wanted. And truth be told, he has good reasons for doing it. His fortress was attacked, a general (brother nontheless) was slain and it was at the hand of Sunsgrove. While we can all wish for people to settle down and sort out any misunderstandings, the reality is that people are complicated.
Even if Sunsgrove pleads innocence for Kenosh’s actions, the ones affected by them wont magically say “Oh ok, thats cool! We understand” and just continue on. They want somebody to pay for it and the sad thing is everyone becomes a victim. At that point it doesnt matter who started who, the only thing that’ll matter for everyone is for the other side to fall. I guess I could say what may become this story’s theme is the idea of “victims victimizing the victims”.
*sigh* I blame that treaty for not seriously helping everyone to live peacefully. It’s funny though…what a perfect and ironic analogy for human nature.
yeah i can guess i wes 100% correct and all humans are not perfect either but we try to make the world a better place . . . . wall some people.
Well, Somehow guys now it ending be funny, when we see that Tosch is increasingly angry and perhaps begins to rule as a new unofficial Ashling ruler, as his beloved brother, General Clovis – I’ll just say that is bad going on, seeing his rage and fanaticism and ruthlessness of action (Honestly I say tha now he shows in a nutshell in his person the whole hypocrisy, ironic, cunning and ruthlessness and brutality political games and canid army bloody acts that really governs the state – typical totalitarianism :/ ) I feel something in the heart of the canid will not “Attack” Sunsgrove only be ” intervene” because they are concerned about what is happening in the Sunsgrove see the “difficult political Sunsgrovian situation”, they want to have a finger on the pulse in accordance with the agreement on cooperation between the kingdoms, they only come as friends and you get what fight them (All betrayed Sunsgrove) are margin and only provocateurs and przewrotowcy where you need to make an example of punishment and help allies :p – I mean taht this “help” will just Burn, To Carve out all Sunsgrovian and Lutren towns and villages, rape and take strong captive for sale on the slave market – already I can see the glow of the fire on the burning forest and villages, big battlefield after a bloody battle ( Like now in canid Garrison), the mass graves of Innocent Luther and sunsgrove, cruel executions – a zero pity and mercy… again getting ready outpouring Sea of innocent blood in the name of choir Canid Policy and ideology… :/
Honestly somehow this week is not to me to laugh, so now I admit that I was (still am) “Lady Canid” I did it for fun, but when is so seriously spectrum so bloody war is up to man the fear and bitterness throat squeezes… ;-;

It’s funny, but this has never occurred to me before: Could the assassination of Clovis be meant to parallel the assassination of Archduke Ferndinand? (Not sure if anyone’s ever brought that up in the comments before.) If so, we all know how THAT worked out for history, or at least European history. Let’s hope our landlocked Four Kingdoms don’t follow that model …
If it does turn out as big and symbolic as WW1, I can imagine hundreds of years into the future, a several year long series on the Four Kingdom’s version of Youtube about the war and all the weapons used in it.

To me, the canid look much more anglo-saxon as russian, by the way. One ought to know one’s history, and generally speaking, as brutal as the Russian may seem, they never get to the level of the Anglo-Saxons, the most blood thirsty nation ever since Gengis Khan…
I love Quin. His face in the second panel perfectly conveys the concept of “What the hell are you on?”
I’d recommend wiping that look off your face, though, Quin. You are the other captain, after all, and your friend is the murderer’s son.
Tosch’s faces make such great expressions, please someone take advantage of them.

Yup, Tosch is making it clear he’s not a happy Canid. Death of a brother and a general? There’s bound to be more than a little disorder spreading in Aisling, the Canid nation, right about now!
A curious question: Are there other generals running Aisling aside from Clovis and Tosch, or is it just those two?
It’s just Clovis and Tosch at the top of the Canid military’s chain of command — and by that, I mean now it’s just Tosch.
Oh, okay…or rather, oh boy! Then I guess that incident’s gonna leave a vacuum, a really big power vacuum! The balance of power in Aisling has been disrupted! Devastated! The scales have been tipped!
One can only hope Tosch is left too busy with ‘kingly’ (Janus) matters in Arklow to think about how to court-martial Quin and Dak in every angle there is to look at…
Come to think of it. In The Song of The Eastern Sands canid assassins attacked a sunsgrovian embassy, so I’m going to go off on a limb and say that in the coming war it will be canid vs ermehn/sungrovian. as for the felis and the vulpin, don’t know. Speaking of vulpin I cant stop imagining vulpin soldiers mounted on ostrichs since they first popped up with janik all those weeks ago. It would make the vulpin military stand out.
