Some folks were wondering last week what would happen if Asha actually managed to catch up with the Canid assassin! Well, here’s your answer! Turns out Asha CAN in fact take care of herself, even against a thick-skulled Canid.

CLONK!

34-1

Because of Volume 2’s later publication this summer (it’s actually slated to be released in limited quantities in late September/early October for conventions with a November release date in stores), Rachel and I are only doing a few shows this season.

However, we’ll have all new merchandise even without the new books, and any show where we don’t have Volume 2, we’ll be taking pre-order information down so we can possibly mail out convention specials even if you can’t get the book from us in-person.

Rachel and I will be attending Boston Comic Con August 12-14th and New York Comic Con on October 6-9. We won’t have Volume 2 ready for Boston, but we should definitely have it ready to go for New York!

I will also have a table at Hartford ComicConn September 24th and 25th. We’re not sure if the books will be ready by then, but I’ve got my fingers crossed.

Either way, for all three shows, we’ll have new prints, new bookmarks, and of course the t-shirts!

For guest art this week, I wanted to share this awesome piece that SaraaLuna did of a humanized Rook! Check this out:

I’ve seen humanized versions of a lot of our cast, and posted a bunch of them here before! I think they’ve all turned out excellently because to my eye, the characters still look visually intriguing even when they’re normal everyday ol’ humans! Here we have Rook, looking appropriately disinterested in whatever nonsense is happening around him. “Oh, you need me to go intimidate some crooks muscling in on our territory? Hrm. Fine, I guess.”

Thank you so much, Saraa! I love how he turned out! :)

And another little surprise for you! A couple weeks ago I shared a little image of a thing that I’m fiddling on. Well, I’ve continued fiddling, and now it’s got more stuff in it!

wdtest01

Obviously this is all temp stuff — the silly treasure chest, the stylistically inconsistent background art, a Mirren sprite by Veigue and a Finn sprite by Rachel! It’s madness! Nothing fits!

Well, that’s just because everything is placeholder. I wanted to try and build a little adventure game scene in Unity using Adventure Creator without needing any artist intervention and, well, this is what it looks like without an artist’s help :)

On the plus side, there’s a nifty little two-scene thing, an inventory puzzle, some test dialog, etc etc. The test was a success, and gives me something to build upon, at any rate. If anything new happens with it, I’ll let you know!
