Short update this week by virtue of it being close to the holidays and workthings colliding with partythings! In a way, it’s a lot like Yurk finding a really valuable whatsit while trapped in an ancient and potentially dangerous catacomb! There’s a bit of that “work” in the whole survival element, but then the celebration of finding something valuable!

Yes, I know. I’m grasping at straws here.

Some cool Western Deep news! In the latest issue of Wireframe Magazine, Abyssal Dunes artist Jerome Jacinto was interviewed along with several game developers from titles like Armello, Tooth and Tail, and Ghost of a Tale (all of which feature Jerome’s wonderful artwork and some words of varying quantity by yours truly!) to chat about taking inspiration from the venerable Redwall book series.

Fur and fantasy: the surprising influence of the Redwall books.

In the issue, a fantastic piece of Rook from Song of the Eastern Sands and Western Deep Chapter 3 is featured, with a nice little callout to Beyond the Western Deep, which of course is also heavily inspired by Redwall. It was absolutely an honor to have our comic mentioned in the same article as these amazing interactive titles, and of course Redwall itself.

See you all next week!
